The Trojans’ top-seeded doubles team of Connor Hildebrandt and Jake Humphreys suffered their first losses of the season in dropping a pair of matches on Saturday. Hildebrandt and Humphreys (28-2) lost to Bay Port’s Eric Linskens and Kevin Lewis, 6-1, 6-3 in the semifinals before falling to Homestead’s Conner Peck and Bryce Toburen, 6-3, 6-3 in the third-place match.

The Tremper duo was looking to become only the second doubles team in school history to win a State championship. Tremper’s Dave Amelotte and Matt Brothers won the school’s only state crown in 1992.
