Henry Baxter “Boots” Michael
1923 - 2010

Henry Baxter “Boots” Michael, 86, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Baldwyn to Hugh Miller Michael and Amanda Louella Searcy Michael. He was reared in Baldwyn and attended Prentiss County schools. He was a World War II Army veteran where he earned the Silver Star. He lived in Kenosha, Wis., for about 25 years. He retired after 35 years of service with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and moved to Itawamba County. He was a Baptist, and enjoyed gardening and spending time in his yard.

Services will be at noon Thursday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton, Miss., with Brother Terry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one son, Randy Michael, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; one brother, Vaughn Searcy Michael (Louise) of Baldwyn, Miss.; one grandson, Matthew Earl Michael; and one great grandson, Bradley Chase Michael, both of Kenosha.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Larue Michael, who died in 1999; three brothers, Hardin Clay “H. C.” Michael, Hugh Miller “Lank” Michael, and Phillip Neal “Coot” Michael; two sisters, Annie Williams “Bill” Michael and Evelyn Michael; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Randy Michael, Matthew Michael, Danny Michael, Jimmy Michael, Noel Franks, Richard Franks, and Vaughn Michael.

Arnold Miller will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p. m. Wednesday and from 10 a. m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
