Marjorie Louise Ruschmann, 91, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., and formerly of Waukegan, Ill., went home to be with her Lord on March 5, 2010.
She had lived with her daughter and son-in-law since 2003. She was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Elkhart, Ind.
Marjorie lived in Waukegan for 55 years and was an active member of the Christ Episcopal Church. She enjoyed being involved in her community and volunteering as a server at the local soup kitchens. She belonged to the Waukegan Historical Society serving in various capacities for 15 years. Marjorie was known to be quite active in her younger days as she was an avid swimmer and an incredible bowler. She appreciated fine art, antiques and traveling. Her most incredible adventure was in 1976 when she traveled with the Illinois Bicentennial Wagon Train from Grayslake, Ill., to Valley Forge, Pa. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her loving family: son, Edward J. (Margo) Ruschmann, Jr. of Asheville, N.C.; daughter, Mary Lou (Matthew) Loriss of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; grandchildren Jennifer (Michael) Johnson of Lake Villa, Ill., and Rebecca (Rob) Johnson-Frank of Twin Lakes, Wis.; great grandchildren, Jamie Kennedy and Kendall Johnson; brother, Edward Goard; and sisters, Mary Lamb and Mildred Worthington.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Edward J. Ruschmann Sr.; her son, John Stephen Ruschmann; and her brother, Stanley C. Goard.
The family would like to send a sincerest thank you to Marion Lind, Marjorie's loving companion and caregiver for five and one half years as well as Leah, Tina, Hilda, Chaplain John of Hospice Advantage of Racine, Wis.; Dr. Santarelli and his entire staff for their loving care and support. You are truly angels without wings.
A visitation for Marjorie will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road Gurnee, Ill. Services will take place Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the Christ Episcopal Church, 410 Grand Ave. in Waukegan, Ill., at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be sent to Hospice Advantage of Racine, WI, 5200 Washington Avenue, Suite 119 Racine, WI 53406.
