John “Puta” J. Melesky, Jr.
1952 - 2010

John "Puta" J. Melesky, Jr., 57, of Bristol, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at United Hospital Systems - St. Catherine's Campus.

Born in Stambaugh, Mich., on Aug. 11, 1952, he was the son of John James Melesky, Sr. and Ramona Joan (Franzene) Barnes. At the age of six, John moved with his family to Kenosha County.

From 1971 to 1975, John proudly served our country in the United States Marines. Following his honorable discharge, he was in the Marine Corp Reserves until 1977.

On April 4, 1981, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, he was married to Sandra Kirkpatrick.

John was employed as a journeyman with Local #18 Sheet Metal Workers International Association for 32 years. He served his apprenticeship at Martin Petersen Company.

He was a member of the Local #18 Sheet Metal Workers International Association where he was their business manager from 2004 until 2006. John was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and woodcutter. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR; especially Dale Jarrett. John and his family treasured the time they spent together at their Up North Cabin near Gaastra, Mich.

Left to remember John are his wife, Sandy; his father, John James Melesky, Sr.; his two sons, John J. Melesky, III and Andrew Joseph Melesky, both of Bristol; his two sisters, Mary Ann Shelby of Caspian, Mich., and Gayle (Mike) Willkomm of Bristol; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona; his father-in-law, Ray Kirkpatrick; and one nephew and one niece.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The date and time of interment will be available in the Tuesday edition of the Kenosha News. A visitation will be held on Monday, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
