Herbert V. Erickson
1939 - 2010

Herbert V. Erickson, 70, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee.

Herbert Vernon Erickson was born May 1, 1939, in the Town of Seneca, Shawano County, Wis., to Carl and Dorothy (Denny) Erickson. After graduating from Bowler High School he entered the U.S. Army and served from 1963 to 1965. Herb was united in marriage on April 21, 1966, to Grace Harris at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Phlox, Wis. The couple settled in Kenosha where they lived all of their married life. For 30 years, Herb was employed as a die caster with Johnson Motors of Waukegan, Ill., retiring in 2000. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Morris. Herb liked football, baseball, gardening, fishing, and country music, especially Johnny Cash. He enjoyed going fishing with his brother Roger and nephew Ronnie. Herb especially loved deer hunting with his son Mark and his brothers, and he also loved going to the casino in Green Bay with his son Scott.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Grace; and two sons, Scott Erickson of Green Bay and Mark Erickson of Kenosha. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Erickson of Shawano. There are three sisters and five brothers: Jean Behnke of Tigerton, Roger (Barbara) of Shawano, Ruben of Bowler, Charles (Karen) of Milwaukee, Diane (friend John) Cerveny of Gresham, Karen (Don) Wurth of Gresham, Ralph (friend Cindy) of Bowler, and Andy (Pam) of Shawano. There are special friends, John and Debbie Camosy, Tim and Chris Drewry, Tom Crosetto; and three adopted grandchildren, Kevin and Trisha Camosy and Sam Drewry. Herb is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Herb is preceded in death by his father, Carl; a brother, Gary; and an infant sister, Helen.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, N5326 Church Rd., Tigerton, WI 54486. Pastor John Hielsberg will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Military honors will be provided by members of the American Legion Post #239 of Tigerton. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, AND on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Online condolences may be sent via www.beil-didier.com.
